As the IC Design Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary team in designing integrated circuits (ICs) for high-volume cellular handsets, including RFICs, power amplifiers, RF switches, and front-end modules. This role encompasses the full product development cycle, from specification definition to circuit design, testing, and production support. Key Responsibilities: Lead a team of Analog/RFIC design engineers in developing RFICs for cellular applications, focusing on components such as LNAs, RF switches, attenuators, and other RF/analog blocks. Work closely with system engineers and module design teams to develop detailed specifications, monitor design progress, and address performance or circuit-related issues. Champion innovation in design methodologies, ensuring effective integration of advanced linear/nonlinear models and simulation techniques that align physical implementations with measured device performance. Cultivate a collaborative team environment, promoting clear communication and efficient problem-solving to prioritize tasks and achieve project milestones. Oversee hands-on lab work for data analysis, troubleshooting, tuning, and debugging, ensuring high-quality, reliable designs. Mentor junior engineers, fostering continuous learning and professional development within the team. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on product goals and timelines, supporting the company’s overall success. Required Skills and Experience: Expertise in transistor-level CMOS or SOI RFIC design, with a strong foundation in device physics. Proficiency in RF and microwave engineering principles, including impedance matching, passive circuits, noise management, linearity, circuit stability, and electromagnetic theory. Advanced simulation skills with tools such as Agilent ADS, Momentum/EMX, HFSS/CST, and Cadence. Experience with microstrip, stripline, laminate, multi-chip module (MCM), and passive circuit design (e.g., couplers, baluns). Proven leadership and project management skills with a talent for inspiring and guiding a team toward achieving design objectives. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a collaborative, supportive team environment. Self-driven leader with a passion for guiding products from concept through to mass production. Preferred Qualifications: MSEE with 8–10 years of experience, or BSEE with 12 years of experience in IC design, specifically within RFIC or related fields. Compensation and Benefits: Starting base pay will be based on factors such as experience, skills, education, market demands, responsibilities, and location. The client offers a variety of base pay ranges for U.S. locations.
