Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical Float

Location: 1340 Hal Greer Blvd, Huntington, WV 25701

Schedule: Night Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Duration: 13 weeks

Weekly Breakdown:

Weekly Gross: $2,074.00 Per Week

On W2(Taxable): $828.00 Per Week

Stipend(Non-Taxable): $1,246.00 Per Week

Job Overview : Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in the Medical Surgical Float Pool at a Level II Trauma, Major Teaching Hospital. RN will float between medical-surgical units based on facility needs. Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Job duties:

• Deliver direct patient care , including assessments, administering medications, managing IVs, and performing routine procedures.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions , recognize changes, and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, case managers, therapists, and other RNs.
• Document patient care activities accurately in the Cerner electronic medical record system .
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, procedures, medications, discharge instructions, and care plans.
• Maintain compliance with all hospital policies, protocols, and safety guidelines.
• Float to other units as needed within the scope of training and competency.

Experience: Minimum 2 years (Required)

Active RN License – West Virginia or Compact Multistate RN License (must be in hand before start)

Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required (American Heart Association preferred)

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Preferred , but sometimes required depending on specific unit needs

NIH Stroke Certification – Preferred (often required for float roles at stroke-certified facilities)
